2009
Corey, Luzaich, Pliska, de Ghetaldi & Nastari, LLP, proudly announces that Amanda L. Riddle, Esq., has become a partner in the firm effective January 1, 2009. Ms. Riddle joined our law firm in 2001, and focuses her practice on civil litigation, including, general and complex business litigation, probate litigation, real estate litigation, employment litigation, and contract litigation.
Ms. Riddle is an active participant in the San Mateo County community. Ms. Riddle organizes a legal clinic for Shelter Network’s Maple Street Shelter, Haven House and First Step for Families, which house homeless residents and families of the Peninsula. In 2006, Ms. Riddle served as the President of the San Mateo County Bar Association Barristers. She is the current Vice Chair of the San Mateo County Bar Association’s Women Lawyers’ Section and a member of the board of directors of the San Mateo County Trial Lawyers. Along with these organizations, Ms. Riddle organizes a number of events every year benefitting charitable organizations in the Bay Area such as Shelter Network, Samaritan House and Peninsula Habitat for Humanity.
While obtaining her J.D., at the University of San Francisco, Ms. Riddle participated in the school’s two-week Intensive Advocacy Program, receiving the Edward J. McFetridge Award for excellence in advocacy. Ms. Riddle was also a member of her law school’s national moot court team.

2008
For the third year in a row, each of our firm’s four partners, George R. Corey, Stevan N. Luzaich, Dario de Ghetaldi, and Jerry E. Nastari have been named by California Super Lawyers magazine as one of the top attorneys in California. Only 5% of the lawyers in California are named by Super Lawyers .
2007
On June 4, 2007, Dario de Ghetaldi, along with Colleen Duffy Smith of Morgan, Duffy-Smith & Tidalgo, LLP, and Michael G. Reedy of McManis Faulkner, LLP, filed a nationwide class action against the United States Department of Health and Human Services seeking reformation of Medicare's method of reimbursing physicians and $2.45 billion in damages.

A partner of our firm for almost 20 years and a good friend, Judge Edward W. Pliska passed away on October 31, 2006, after a year long battle with cancer. He was 71.
2005
After almost five years of litigation, our firm, as co-lead and liaison counsel, reached a settlement in the shareholder’s derivative suit that alleged that insiders at Oracle Corporation, including CEO Lawrence J. Ellison, had traded over $900,000,000.00 worth of Oracle stock while in possession of adverse material inside information. Under the terms of the court-approved settlement, Mr. Ellison agreed to donate $100,000,000.00 to charity and pay $22,000,000.00 in fees and costs to plaintiffs’ attorneys.

The San Mateo County Trial Lawyers Association renamed its trial lawyer of the year award the George R. Corey Trial Lawyer of the Year Award.
2004
Senior Partner George R. Corey acted as chair of the San Mateo County Old Courthouse’s Courtroom A Restoration Committee, and the firm participated in all phases of the renovation. The ceremonial reopening of Courtroom A took place with United States Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O’Connor as the keynote speaker.
