With over 20 years’ experience in the legal profession, Edward Daniels began his legal career dealing with issues involving international environmental law. He now concentrates his legal practice in the areas of trusts and estates, probate, conservatorships, commercial law, business entities, and real estate law. Whether he is preparing an estate plan for a young family, initiating a conservatorship for a client’s aging parent, or orchestrating the probate of a multi-million dollar estate, Mr. Daniels brings the same compassionate understanding manner to his client relationships.
A large part of Mr. Daniels’ practice centers around the preparation of estate plans for couples and individuals, and the administration of estates following a death or incapacity. He is experienced in the preparation of a wide variety of trusts, as well as wills, both simple and complex. Mr. Daniels has extensive experience dealing with conservatorship matters, and for the past few years has served on the independent counsel panel of the San Mateo County Superior Court, accepting appointments by the court to represent seniors and dependent adults in conservatorship proceedings. Another significant segment of Mr. Daniels’ practice involves business entities, and he has extensive experience forming corporations, limited liability companies and partnerships, and advising such entities regarding continuing legal compliance and governance. Mr. Daniels also deals with commercial law and real estate, and his experience includes the preparation of contracts for the purchase and sale of businesses and professional practices, as well as real estate transactions and title issues.
In the community, Mr. Daniels has served as a board member and volunteer legal counsel to local non-profit organizations and as a volunteer firefighter. He is an active volunteer with the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Department Dive/Cliff Rescue/Marine Unit. He currently is an active member, and has been elected to the board of the Half Moon Bay Rotary Club, a well-known local service organization. After several years of volunteering with Senior Coastsiders, a local non-profit organization with a focus on benefitting seniors in our community, Mr. Daniels was elected to the board of that organization, and also serves as its legal counsel.
